Infectious Diseases and Clinical Microbiology

The aim of the Department of Infectious Diseases and Clinical Microbiology is to provide theoretical and practical education to train specialists who can conduct research projects, perform infection control applications and who can use up to date microbiological methods of diagnosis to diagnose and subsequently treat infectious diseases.

It is expected that students closely monitor scientific advances and journals in order to attain this goal. Throughout their specialist education alongside academic staff members of the department in our hospitals, students will be taught treatment and consulting services to patients and workers with suspected infections, while preventing infectious epidemics which could arise in a hospital setting.
