Our Vision;

Our goal is to become a nationally recognized, valued and preferred department that trains graduates specialized in nutritional sciences and dietetics, provides research and development services, and with its scientific studies and consultancy. In addition, we aim to be a reference in the field of nutrition and dietetics by making social studies and publications as part of preventive and curative health services.

Our mission;

We aim to educate dietitians who are a part of conscious preventive and curative health care professionals and have critical thinking ability and can make critical decisions, have ethics and universal values, committed to a team approach with multi-disciplinary working with the awareness,health protection, development and continuation of evidence-based nutrition science within the framework of plans to create,in the individual and social dimension promotion of healthy eating habits for a healthy life, renewing and continuing scientific studies of lifelong learning.

Our Objectives;

Our graduates will be able to;

  1. Create a diet plan suitable for the healthy individual, sick individual, family and society in accordance with age, gender, socio-economic status, culture, lifestyle, nutritional habits and risk situations.

  2. Identify the nutritional problems of the society and take part in the implementation and dissemination of plans and policies for the protection and development of public health.

  3. Continue their academic, professional and personal development with the awareness of lifelong learning by adhering to ethical values throughout their working life.

With the successful completion of this program, students will be able to;

  1. Gain basic theoretical and applied knowledge in nutrition / dietetics and its supporting, scientific and research fields,

  2. Achieve scientific / evidence-based knowledge, make decisions, apply, using intellectual skills and information technologies such as critical thinking, information integration, analytical inquiry, ethical reasoning, problem solving,

  3. Conduct research, reports and shares it by choosing appropriate research methods, taking into account ethical procedures, using intellectual, numerical and organizational skills and information technologies.

  4. Establish oral-written communication and teamwork by using English effectively,

  5. Define / apply professional ethical rules. It continues to learn throughout life. It has cultural sensitivity and it shows. Displays attitudes and behaviors such as professional advocacy, leadership, civic participation, and becomes a role model.

  6. Apply clinical nutritional care to individuals and groups of different ages and health conditions.

  7. Apply nutrition education and counseling methods that facilitate behavioral change and improve health, taking into account age, gender, special situation, cultural diversity, education level, health needs, socio-economic situation and sustainability.

  8. Perform collective nutrition management functions, evaluate financial data and budget, conducts quality activities, ensures the implementation of sanitation principles for employee, customer, facility and food safety, applies competencies that protect the environment and encourage sustainability.

  9. Discuss the relationship of the field of nutrition and dietetics with public, health and social policies at national / international level, define and implement the legislation related to the field, the basic working principles of health workers, strengthen the effects of the profession on society by participating in professional organizations and other relevant organizations.

  10. Fulfill the general education requirements by taking at least two extra-field courses to contribute to the development of general knowledge, foreign language, numerical, social, cultural, artistic skills and attitudes.

  11. Use English at least at the European Language Portfolio B1 General Level in order to follow international studies in the field of nutrition and dietetics, to obtain international employment opportunities, to communicate with foreign colleagues, employees, patients and clients.
