On the 100th anniversary of our Republic, the Sociology Department of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences at our university held its second colloquium on December 11, 2023.
The colloquium, titled 'Republic's Women Writers: Seven Periods, Seven Writers', featured the Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Prof. İnci User, as a speaker. Prof. User, addressing the first century of the Republic across seven different periods, chose one woman writer for each period to discuss various events, developments, and issues particularly affecting women's lives in those times. She shared these insights with the participants through the reflections found in the works of the selected writers.
The colloquium, which emphasized the subjective nature of the choices of periods and writers, concluded with contributions from the audience.
