The Department of Public Health has made important contributions to the structuring of the medical education at Acıbadem University since its establishment.
The aim of the department in keeping with the fundamental goals of the School of Medicine is to support the training of physicians who can identify health problems in their home country and around the world, who use the principles and methods of public health to preserve and develop the health of society and individuals, who can analyze the social indicators of health as well as different socioeconomic and cultural factors which can affect health, who can successfully apply epidemiologic research methods, who has the skill to evaluate proof during the clinical decision making process, and who can apply universal principles of human rights to medical applications.
Other goals within the scope of research and service include understanding health problems which are being experienced, uncovering the cause and carryout research aimed at developing solutions, developing and implementing projects; contributing to the development of policies to prevent diseases and to promote good health.
