Audiometry Events-May

The Audiology Program at the School of Health Services organized two events in May with the aim of enhancing students' expertise in the effective use of hearing aids. The first event, held on May 30, 2023, focused on Hearing Aid Fitting with Real Ear Measurement (REM) Application. The second event, which took place on May 31, 2023, centered around Assistive Listening Systems (FM and ROGER Systems).

During the REM Application event, in collaboration with May Hearing, Audiologist Mehmet Tarık Kaya delivered a presentation to help students gain competence and objectivity in the use of hearing aids. The presentation covered various aspects, including an explanation of the REM device, its purpose, and the process of adjusting hearing aids using the REM device. The event saw a participation of 35 attendees, who were provided with practical demonstrations on adjusting hearing aids based on individual hearing loss.

The event on Assistive Listening Systems (FM and ROGER Systems) was held in partnership with Sonova Sensory Systems. Audiologist Mert Ardan, an Audiology and Education Specialist at Sonova Sensory Systems, presented on additional sensory systems that can be provided based on the needs of individuals using hearing aids. Ardan addressed questions related to FM Systems, ROGER System, and the reasons individuals may require assistive listening systems. The event, attended by 34 participants, emphasized the importance of assistive listening systems in overcoming daily challenges faced by individuals using hearing aids, and practical information was provided on the usage of these devices.
