Inter-Institutional Lateral Transfer

Inter-Institutional Lateral Transfer refers to the transition from other Universities to departments/programs (undergraduate to undergraduate, associate degree to associate degree) of ACU at the same level.

Student admission through inter-institutional lateral transfer is made in accordance with the provisions of Higher Education Council's "Regulation on the Principles of Transfer between Associate and Undergraduate Degree Programs in Higher Education Institutions, Double Major, Minor and Inter-Institutional Credit Transfer" and "Acıbadem Mehmet Ali Aydınlar University Undergraduate, Associate Degree Programs Lateral Programs Transfer Directive".

Documents Required for Application

  1. Student certificate: A newly dated, approved, stamped or e-signed document prepared by the higher education institution in which the candidate is registered, showing that the candidate is still a registered student at the time of application.
  • Student documents should contain information about the candidate's disciplinary status. If not, a document indicating the disciplinary status of the candidate must be submitted as an attachment.
  • For lateral transfers from abroad, the registration date of the candidate must be clearly stated (month/day/year).
  1. Transcript: A transcript showing all courses taken, grades and grade point averages, prepared by the higher education institution to which the candidate is registered. (In a sealed envelope, certified, sealed or e-signed)
  • If the transcript does not contain descriptive information about the grading system and language of instruction, documents containing this information should be attached to the transcript.
  1. Equivalency Certificate (Required for lateral transfers from abroad)

  2. Course Description and Content Information: Documents containing detailed descriptions of the courses and content information specified in the candidate's transcript.

  3. ÖSYS / DGS / YKS Placement Result Document (Students who apply for Lateral Transfer from abroad must bring a document stating that they meet the conditions specified in the YÖK Announcement text published in the ÖSYS / YKS Guide for the year they registered to the university they are currently enrolled in.)

  4. Copy of High School Diploma: A copy of the diploma from the high school he/she graduated from.

  5. Identity Document: Copy of the candidates' identity card.

  6. One photograph

  7. Certificate of Achievement (For lateral transfers from the secondary education programs to a primary education program, a document stating that the student is in the top 10% of the class in terms of success)

  8. Language proficiency certificate for programs whose language of instruction is English. Candidates who cannot meet the proficiency requirement are subjected to the Acıbadem Mehmet Ali Aydınlar University Exemption and Level Determination (ACUPEP PPT) exam. Those who fail this exam, too, study at the English Preparatory Program.
  • Students who meet the following conditions are directly exempt from the English Preparatory Program:

a) Those who have completed their secondary education in at least the last three years in a country where English is spoken as their mother tongue, in secondary education institutions attended by the citizens of that country.

b) Those who certify that they have obtained the base score and above in the international foreign language exams organized by the Measurement, Selection and Placement Center (ÖSYM) Presidency or valid as equivalent to the foreign language exams, by the Council of Higher Education.

*Students who score 85 and above in the YDS and/or e-YDS exam must also take the APPT/ACEPT speaking and writing exams and get at least 70 in order to be exempt from the English Preparatory Program.

**a) Institutional TOEFL test results are not accepted. Only TOEFL-IBT results obtained from test centers at state universities are valid.

**b) Students who take the TOEFL-IBT exam abroad with a total score of 80 or more must take the APPT/ACEPT speaking and writing exams to be held by the Department of Foreign Languages, English Preparatory Program and get at least 70 in order to be accepted.

**c) The institution code of Acıbadem University must be noted as C173 in TOEFL-IBT documents submitted to the university during registration or sent directly to the English Preparatory Program from Turkey or abroad. Documents without this code will not be accepted, and additional result documents can be requested from the TOEFL center with the Score Report Request Form. Candidates must successfully complete the English Preparatory Program in order to continue in the program they have been accepted to.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Documents prepared in languages other than English or Turkish must also be translated and submitted in Turkish or English.
