The Department of Sociology at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences of our university, organized the fourth colloquium on March 27, 2024, commemorating the Centennial of the Republic. Associate Professor Alper Bilgili from the Department of Sociology at Acibadem University delivered a lecture titled "Debates on the Sociology of Science in Turkey" with the participation of 60 students and faculty members. Assoc. Prof. Bilgili provided the attendees with insights into the scope and field of the sociology of science. The discussion also highlighted the main groups working in this field in our country, focusing on the issues they prioritize and illustrating how different ideological approaches utilize sociology of science.
