Acibadem University's Biomaterials Application and Research Center held its Introduction Meeting and ISO 13485 Accreditation Celebration on July 21, 2023. Established in 2020 as a center working on topics related to the field of medicine, the Biomaterials Application and Research Center obtained ISO 13485 accreditation in 2023 for the compliance of clinical use of medical materials and devices produced in that year with Clean Room conditions. The effectiveness of the center, which enables the national medical sector and researchers in the field of Biomaterials and Tissue Engineering to make tangible contributions to public health, was realized with the participation of Mehmet Ali Aydinlar, the Chairman of Acibadem University Board of Trustees.
During the meeting, the establishment story of the center was conveyed, information was provided about the Biomaterials Master's and Doctoral Program, the fields of Biomaterials and Tissue Engineering, and the ongoing research at the center. The event, attended by 40 people, concluded with presentations by the Center Director, Head of Biomaterials Department, and Professor of Biomedical Engineering, Prof. Vasif Hasirci, as well as speeches by Institute Director Prof. Ata Akin, our Rector, Prof. Ahmet Sahin, and Chairman of our University Board of Trustees, Mehmet Ali Aydinlar.
