Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nuray Alaca graduated from the Istanbul University School of Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation in 1995. She completed her Master’s degree in the Department of Orthopedic Physiotherapy at the Marmara University Institute of Health Sciences in 2002 with a thesis on different rehabilitation methods for knee prosthesis. She later pursued her doctoral studies in the Department of Physiology at the same institute and received her PhD in 2015 with a dissertation examining the effects of aerobic exercise frequency and the “weekend warrior” exercise model on diabetes parameters and muscle tissue in experimentally induced type 2 diabetic rats.
She was awarded the title of Associate Professor in Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation in 2021. Between 2000 and 2011, she worked as a physiotherapy specialist at Marmara University Hospital, primarily with patients in orthopedic and stroke rehabilitation. Since 2011, she has been working as an academic staff member at Acıbadem Mehmet Ali Aydınlar University Faculty of Health Sciences. She has also held several administrative roles, including Head of the Department, Faculty Board Member, and Bologna Coordinator since 2015.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Alaca has 15 articles published in journals indexed in SCI, SSCI, and AHCI, as well as 10 articles in other journals. She teaches undergraduate courses such as Physiology, Exercise Physiology, Manual Therapy, Orthopedic Rehabilitation, Stroke Rehabilitation, and Elastic Taping at Acıbadem Mehmet Ali Aydınlar University.
