The “Career Days V – Career Guidance” event, organized by the Social and Scientific Activities Commission of Acıbadem Mehmet Ali Aydınlar University, was held on April 14, 2025, in classroom C-301. Aimed at nursing students, the event provided comprehensive information about career options after graduation.
A total of 42 students attended the event, where two experts in their fields shared their knowledge and experiences. The first speaker, Aynur Dik, President of the Home Care Association, gave an insightful presentation titled “Home Healthcare and Care Services in the World and in Our Country.” Beginning her professional career as a nurse in a neurology department, Dik emphasized the importance of home healthcare services in the nursing profession and informed students about the responsibilities and challenges nurses face in this field.
The second speaker was Sena Güler, a 2020 graduate of Acıbadem University’s Nursing Department, who currently works at a private insurance company. Güler delivered a detailed presentation on the roles of nurses in the insurance sector. She provided valuable insights on recruitment processes, job descriptions, and the scope of authority for nurses in the field of health insurance, while also sharing her own career journey to inspire students.
The event addressed key topics such as “What are the different fields of work in nursing?”, “What is home healthcare and what are the roles of nurses in this area?”, and “What are the roles of nurses in the insurance sector?”. The speakers offered their professional experiences, helping students gain new perspectives for their future career paths.
The event concluded with a Q&A session, followed by the presentation of certificates of appreciation to the speakers. Students left the session satisfied, once again demonstrating the importance of such career guidance events in shaping professional vision.
