Objective
The aim of this program is to enhance the research motivation of undergraduate students studying in the field of health sciences with a focus on TÜBİTAK programs. It seeks to foster interest in preparing project proposals, improve their research project writing skills, and develop teamwork abilities. Additionally, the program aims to provide participants with knowledge about career development opportunities, including CV writing.
Scope
The training event, planned for three days, will include theoretical seminars in the morning sessions and project writing workshops in the afternoon sessions. The theoretical sessions will cover topics such as literature review, critical reading of scientific articles, forming research questions and hypotheses, and important points in the project writing process (such as title, keywords, abstract, originality, objectives, methodology, management, budget, dissemination, preparation of project reports and outputs). Information will also be provided on CV writing and national career development opportunities to support career progression.
A total of 24 students, including a limited number from outside the city, will be divided into four groups of six for the workshops. Each group will be guided by two academic instructors. During these sessions, interactive project writing practices will be conducted using the official project proposal form. Groups will be formed based on different disciplines (e.g., Pharmacology, Pharmacognosy, Pharmaceutical Technology, Molecular Biology, or multidisciplinary fields). Each group will have an assigned instructor who will guide participants from topic selection to the completion of the proposal, answering their questions throughout the process.
Throughout the training, the TÜBİTAK 2209 program application form will be used. Each section of the form—such as title, abstract, originality, methodology, project management, dissemination, and budget—will be first covered theoretically and then applied practically. After refining their project ideas, participants will be expected to write the relevant section of the application form based on the day’s topic. Under the supervision of instructors, participants will have the opportunity to discuss key points, potential issues, and gain insights into what should or should not be included in a successful proposal.
In this way, participants will be guided and monitored by their instructors as they prepare a sample project proposal. On the final day of the training, each group will present and defend their project. These presentations will be evaluated and scored by the instructors and other groups using a format similar to the TÜBİTAK panel evaluation system, with feedback provided based on the evaluations.
Participants will also actively engage in activities that enhance their knowledge and skills in career development, including preparing CVs and drafting documents such as theses or reports. Furthermore, the program will provide an opportunity to interact and build a network in an interdisciplinary environment with instructors from various universities and expertise backgrounds.
