Medical Biology

Founded in 2007, the Department of Medical Biology is a discipline that conducts education and research in the field of science, with the perspective of molecular biology, cell biology and molecular genetics.

The vision of the department is to become a "center of excellence" that reflects the developing concept of molecular medicine, designs and implements a dynamic training program, creating a model, gaining technological competence in the field of genomics and conducting R & D studies for basic research, diagnosis and treatment at an international level.

Within the scope of this vision, the duties of the department are: Medical Biology Education Program of the School of Medicine; To carry out with theoretical and applied courses including basic genetics, cell biology, molecular and genetic basis of diseases and interactive modules which are problem based learning models, to contribute to the basic and elective courses at the Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics Faculty of the Faculty of Arts and Science, the Department of Medical Engineering of the Faculty of Engineering and the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences; to conduct graduate and doctorate course programs and provide thesis consultancy for the Institute of Health Sciences, Biochemistry-Molecular Biology and Medical Biotechnology Programs, to carry out basic and applied research into new diagnostic and treatment methods at gene and cell level, in particular cancer genetics, neuro-oncology , cardiovascular and lipid genetics, and tissue engineering.
