Advances in science and technology have had a great impact on the field of healthcare. Currently, it take just 18 months for information to be rendered out of date, therefore rapid advances in technology have had a parallel effect on the speed of diagnostics and treatment of diseases.
Anesthesiology is one of the fields of science which has benefited the most from these advances in science and technology. It is well known that properly trained, competent manpower who can monitor the vital signs of patients during surgery using state of the art technology can contribute greatly to patient safety by correctly assessing the data and performing timely interventions.
On this basis, Acıbadem University, whose mission and vision is to train qualified healthcare professionals, established the Anesthesia Program. The “Anesthesia” program which was opened in the Vocational School of Health Services at Acıbadem University is a two-year associate degree.
The aim of the program is to train modern technicians who can prepare patients-pre-surgery, who can assist the anesthesiologist by monitoring the vital parameters of patients during surgery, who can assume responsibility for monitoring the patient post-surgery, who has the necessary knowledge and skills, and who understands the importance of teamwork.
Students who graduate from the program will be “Anesthesia Technicians”. Graduates will be able to work in operating theatres, intensive care units and pain clinics at university, state and private hospitals under the observation and assessment of the specialist anesthesiologist. The Vocational School boasts a strong academic faculty and state of the art technological infrastructure and aims to train qualified healthcare professionals.
