Sociology Department Teaching Objectives
- Ö.A.1. To provide students with the competence to analyze social institutions and processes from a sociological perspective and the skills to gather, evaluate, and synthesize relevant information.
- Ö.A.2. To provide students with the skills to critically examine studies in sociology and other social sciences.
- Ö.A.3. To provide students with the skills to participate in sociological research, both individually and in teams, and to plan, conduct, analyze, and report these research studies in accordance with technical and ethical principles.
- Ö.A.4. To provide students with the skills to present, interpret, and discuss conceptual information, ideas, and research findings in writing and orally.
- Ö.A.5. To provide the necessary infrastructure for participation and success in graduate programs.
- Ö.A.6. To understand the importance of being well-equipped in various fields of the social and human sciences and to instill knowledge in students accordingly.
- Ö.A.7. To provide information on the objectives, scope, and methods of multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary studies.
- Ö.A.8. To provide the competence to use acquired theoretical and methodological knowledge in various fields of study.
- Ö.A.9. To raise awareness of law, citizenship, and social responsibility; to develop sensitive attitudes toward the environment, social needs, interpersonal differences, relationship and communication problems; and to provide the competence to produce scientific solutions.
