The Department of Pediatric Surgery opened in 2009. Pediatric Surgery is a discipline which treats the gastrointestinal system, urogenital system, the thoracic cavity excluding the heart and the head-neck area of children aged 0-18.The treatment of congenital diseases plays an important role in the field of pediatric surgery.
Students of the School of Medicine are taught theory in their 3rd year, while theory and practical education are combined during the Pediatric Health and Diseases – Pediatric Surgery internship in the 4th year.
