Within the scope of Industrial Property Law No. 6769 published in 2017, brands, geographical indications, designs, patents and utility models are protected under this law. The Research Projects Office provides support for your trademark, design, geographical indication, patent/utility model applications to be made within the scope of the relevant law at our university. The method followed in applications with the title of patent/utility model is detailed below:

Patent or utility model protection is the monopoly rights granted to the patent/utility model owner for a limited time and place to prevent the unauthorized production, sale, use or import of the invention by third parties.

In order for an invention to be patentable, it must include the criteria of novelty, inventive step and industrial applicability. Before applying, it is highly recommended to do a preliminary research on the technical field that is the subject of the invention. The following links can be used for patent preliminary research:

After the preliminary research, you can contact the Research Projects Office at projeofisi@acibadem.edu.tr and get information about the continuation of the process. An invention notification form is first sent to the researchers by the project office and it is requested to be filled. This request is submitted to the Rectorate by the project office and all expenses of the inventions accepted under the Industrial Property Law are covered by the University with the approval of the Rectorate.
