The "Nursing Week and Traditional Alumni Gathering Event," organized in collaboration with the Social and Scientific Activities Commission of the Department of Nursing at Acıbadem Mehmet Ali Aydınlar University and the Student Commission of the Turkish Nurses Association, commenced with a moment of silence and the singing of the Turkish National Anthem. The opening speeches were delivered by Nurse Beril Çavuş and the Head of the Department of Nursing, Prof. Dr. Ükke Karabacak.

As part of the program, Prof. Dr. Esra Uğur, President of the Istanbul Anatolian Branch of the Turkish Nurses Association, introduced the International Council of Nurses (ICN) 2026 theme to the participants. The presentation addressed the role of the nursing profession within global healthcare systems, professional leadership, and future goals for the profession. During the event, fourth-year nursing student Nurse Sıla Azra Yaylacı shared her experiences and perspectives on nursing education and professional development from a student viewpoint.

Within the scope of the alumni gathering, Havvanur Arslan, an ACU graduate nurse who has been working within the Acıbadem Healthcare Group for many years, delivered a presentation. Arslan shared her professional journey from her student years to the present day, providing insights into institutional belonging, professional development, and career experiences.

The session entitled "Nurses Beyond Borders" was moderated by Lecturer Güzin Ünlü Suvari and nursing student Zehra Yurtdaş. During the session, Fatma Özgür from the United Kingdom, Belgin Akça from Australia, and Burcu Nimet Sipçikoğlu from Germany joined the event via Zoom and shared their international professional experiences with the students. The alumni discussed the contribution of their undergraduate education to their international careers, as well as healthcare systems, nursing practices, working conditions, and career opportunities in different countries, while also responding to students' questions.

As part of the event, booths prepared by members of the Turkish Nurses Association Student Commission attracted considerable interest. Various activities were organized at the booths, including nursing-related quizzes, a nursing-themed taboo game, a medication information board, a medication knowledge competition, a medication hunt game, and a sterile glove donning competition. Students and participants actively engaged in these activities and won various prizes.

In the final part of the program, a session entitled "What Photographs Remind Us Of" was held. Memories were shared through photographs from previous years, creating an enjoyable atmosphere of interaction between alumni and students. The event concluded with the closing remarks delivered by Dr. Hilal Yıldız Çelik.

Highlighting the significance of Nursing Week and bringing together students and alumni to promote the exchange of experiences, the event proved highly beneficial in enhancing participants' professional awareness, strengthening alumni–student relationships, and increasing knowledge about international career opportunities in nursing.
