Fourth-year students from the Faculty of Health Sciences, Department of Nursing at Acıbadem University carried out a meaningful event to raise awareness about environmental issues. In collaboration with the TEMA Foundation, an awareness booth titled “One Cigarette Butt, One Forest” was set up on November 27, 2024, at the university campus.

The event aimed to raise awareness among university students and staff about critical environmental issues such as climate change, the prevention of forest fires, and sustainable development goals. Organized by the Sustainable Steps Team, the booth was visited by 59 people throughout the day.

Participants were informed about the environmental impact of waste, ways to prevent forest fires, and individual actions that can be taken to combat climate change.

At the end of the booth visit, heirloom seeds were distributed to encourage visitors to reconnect with nature and become part of a sustainable lifestyle. This symbolic yet meaningful gesture served as a reminder that small acts of awareness can lead to significant change, while also strengthening the environmental consciousness of young people.

The event was recorded as a model initiative aimed at fostering sustainable living habits among students and nurturing environmentally responsible individuals.
