Nursing Students Informed About Professional Identity Development

The Department of Nursing at Acıbadem Mehmet Ali Aydınlar University organized the event titled “Professional Identity Development in Nursing” on April 22, 2026. The event, held in C Block Room 201, was organized by the Department of Nursing Social and Scientific Events Committee and brought together 59 nursing students.

The speaker of the event, Prof. Dr. Ükke Karabacak, Head of the Department of Nursing, delivered a comprehensive presentation on the importance of professional identity development in nursing. During the session, she emphasized the role of professional values, professional belonging, leadership skills, and ethical approaches in shaping a strong professional identity throughout nurses’ career journeys.

The presentation provided students with valuable insights into both the academic and professional dimensions of nursing. Participants had the opportunity to ask questions about professional development and engage in discussions regarding the challenges and opportunities they may encounter in their future careers.

The event served as an important platform for increasing students’ awareness of professional identity, strengthening their sense of belonging to the profession, and supporting their professional growth. Through this informative and interactive session, students gained a deeper understanding of the qualities and competencies required to become effective and responsible nursing professionals.
