A Meaningful Visit to Darülaceze by Nursing Students and Faculty Members

A meaningful visit to Darülaceze was carried out on December 31, 2025, by the academic staff of the Department of Nursing at Acıbadem Mehmet Ali Aydınlar University and senior-year nursing students.

Organized במסגרת the Public Health Nursing course, the event aimed to enhance the social interaction of elderly individuals, support their psychosocial well-being, reduce feelings of loneliness, and enable students to gain a sense of social responsibility and professional awareness by observing the needs of elderly individuals on-site.

During the visit, a warm and sincere communication environment was established with the residents of Darülaceze. Through mutual conversations and sharing, a heartfelt gathering took place. As part of the event, students and academic staff participated in marbling (ebru) art, wood painting, and various handicraft activities together with the participants. These activities supported the active participation of elderly individuals and contributed to strengthening their motor, cognitive, and emotional processes.

The sharing of life experiences by the elderly provided a valuable learning environment for students, fostering intergenerational interaction. Positive feedback was received throughout the event, and a high level of satisfaction was observed among both participants and students.

With a total of 79 participants, the visit concluded with expressions of gratitude to the residents of Darülaceze, appreciation for the support and hospitality of the institution’s staff, and mutual good wishes. This meaningful gathering made significant contributions to supporting the social lives of the residents and to the professional development of the students.
