Hosted by our university, the High School Science Summer Camp was held from June 30 to July 11, 2025, bringing together students from various high schools across Turkiye with the world of science. This comprehensive two-week program offered both theoretical and practical training in the fields of health and life sciences, shedding light on participants' future academic and career planning.
Coordinated by Dr. Zeynep Tokcaer Keskin from the Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences, the camp was enriched with the knowledge and experience shared by Acıbadem University academics.
Throughout the camp, students participated in a wide range of trainings in fields such as medicine, molecular biology and genetics, bioengineering, pharmacy, and health sciences. Covering a broad spectrum—from life sciences to bioinformatics, from genetics to microbiology, from neuroscience to medical design—the program allowed participants to both feed their scientific curiosity and gain hands-on experience in laboratory settings.
The camp introduced many different academic and technical areas including the CASE Simulation Center, MBG and MEG Laboratories, the Pharmacy and Medical Devices Laboratory, and the Neurotechnology and Biomaterials Laboratory. Additionally, a technical visit to Acıbadem Atasehir Hospital gave students the opportunity to observe modern healthcare services in action.
On the final day of the program, students presented the projects they developed using the knowledge and experience they had gained. These group projects were evaluated based on their scientific content as well as presentation skills. All participants who demonstrated outstanding performance were awarded Certificates of Achievement in a ceremony.
The High School Science Summer Camp not both encouraged young individuals to think scientifically and also provided them with an unforgettable experience via preparing them to the future of health and engineering.
