As part of the GEMSTONE Project, supported by the European Union’s Horizon Europe Programme, the training activity titled “Mastering Horizon Europe: Practical Training for the Successful Participation of ACU Researchers” was held on May 21–23, 2025, at our Kerem Aydınlar Campus.
The training was delivered by Serena Cogoni, a grant expert with over 20 years of experience from our project partner Fondazione ICONS, and was successfully completed with the participation of around 30 researchers from various faculties and disciplines of our university.
The training covered a wide range of practical and hands-on topics including understanding the structure of the Horizon Europe programme, how to track funding opportunities, how to develop impactful project ideas, strategies for consortium building, and tips for successful proposal writing. On the final day, one-on-one consultancy sessions were held for selected researchers who had concrete project ideas.
Thanks to this training, our researchers had the opportunity to thoroughly review and plan around the newly published 2025 Horizon Europe calls, learned how to build international collaborations, and gained a significant competence that will contribute to increasing our university’s visibility and competitiveness across Europe.
