The Department of Nursing at Acıbadem Mehmet Ali Aydınlar University hosted an academic delegation from Medical University of Varna, Bulgaria, between June 1 and 5, 2026. The visit was organized to strengthen academic relations between the two institutions, share best practices in nursing education, explore opportunities for collaboration in education and research, and enhance international academic engagement.
The delegation, composed of faculty members and administrators involved in nursing education, health sciences education, and research activities, was welcomed by the Department of Nursing and introduced to the department’s educational programs and academic activities. During the visit, the guests met with faculty members and exchanged ideas on current developments and future collaboration opportunities in nursing education.
As part of the program, the visiting academics were introduced to the simulation-based learning practices used in nursing education. Educational activities designed to support students’ clinical skills development were demonstrated, providing the delegation with insight into the department’s hands-on training approach. Information was also shared regarding the Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE) process, and the relevant facilities were visited. The guests had the opportunity to observe the methods used to assess students’ clinical competencies and professional readiness.
The delegation also toured the CASE (Center for Advanced Simulation and Education), where comprehensive information was provided about the center’s educational activities, advanced simulation technologies, and innovative teaching methods. Meetings held throughout the visit focused on strengthening educational, research, and international collaborations between the two universities. Discussions included opportunities for student and faculty mobility, joint scientific studies, and participation in international projects.
In addition, the program included a visit to Acıbadem Healthcare Group Hospital. During the visit, information was shared about healthcare delivery, patient care processes, and clinical practice areas. The guest academics had the opportunity to observe firsthand the benefits of university-hospital integration in nursing education and clinical training.
The visit was successfully completed and served as a valuable platform for strengthening institutional partnerships, sharing best practices, and laying the foundation for future collaborative educational and research initiatives between the two universities.
