"AAALAC International (American Association for Accreditation of Laboratory Animal Care) is a private, non-profit organization that promotes ethical and humane treatment of animal studies in scientific projects through voluntary accreditation and evaluation programs.
More than 1,000 companies, universities, hospitals, government agencies and other research institutions in 49 countries have earned AAALAC accreditation, demonstrating their commitment to responsible animal care and use. These institutions volunteer to participate in AAALAC's program, as well as comply with local, state, and federal laws governing animal research.
Acıbadem Mehmet Ali Aydınlar University, Experimental Animals Application and Research Center (ACU-DEHAM) has been accepted to the AAALAC accreditation program, held only by two institutions in our country including our center, on February 25, 2020. ACU-DEHAM has been continuing its activities within the scope of AAALAC accreditation since this date.
Internationally, organizations like Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, the American Red Cross, and the National Institutes of Health hold AAALAC accreditation."
