Acıbadem University PhD Achievement Scholarship | Fall Semester 2026–2027 – Second Application Period

Successful candidates who are admitted to the PhD programs at Acıbadem University during the Second Application Period for the Fall Semester of the 2026–2027 Academic Year and who meet the specified scholarship eligibility criteria will be considered for the PhD Achievement Scholarship.

Applications for the scholarship must be submitted via email to doktoraburs@acibadem.edu.tr following the completion of the graduate program application process. The original copies of the required documents must be submitted in person during the scholarship interviews.

Application Deadline: September 11, 2026

Scholarship Interview Dates: September 14–15, 2026

The exact interview date and time will be communicated to eligible candidates by email.

Scholarship Benefits

The PhD Achievement Scholarship provides the following benefits:

  • Full Tuition Fee Exemption: TRY 500,000 / $ 12,000 
  • Monthly Stipend: TRY 75,000 per month for 12 months
  • Housing Support: TRY 10,000 per month for 12 months
  • Meal Support: One meal per day
  • Laptop Computer
  • Support for Participation in Scientific Meetings, in accordance with the University's Directive on Supporting Academic Activities

Graduate School of Natural and Applied Sciences

  • PhD in Biomedical Engineering (English)
  • PhD in Biomaterials (English)
  • PhD in Molecular Biology and Genetics (English)

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates who meet all of the following conditions are eligible to apply for the scholarship:

  • They must be applying for the first time to one of the PhD programs listed above under the Graduate School of Health Sciences or the Graduate School of Natural and Applied Sciences at Acıbadem University and must have completed the relevant graduate program application process.
  • ALES: A minimum score of 75
    Alternatively, a minimum GRE score of 151, GMAT score of 540, or a TUS score deemed equivalent by the relevant Committee.
  • Foreign Language Proficiency: A minimum score of 85 in YDS, ÜDS, KPDS, or YÖKDİL, or a minimum TOEFL iBT score of 102.
  • Candidates applying with a master's degree must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.50/4.00 at the master's level.
  • Candidates must not be employed in a full-time position.

Evaluation Criteria

Applications for the PhD Achievement Scholarship will be evaluated by the Academic Scholarship Committee based on the following criteria:

1. Academic Achievement

Candidates' undergraduate and graduate academic records, ALES scores, foreign language proficiency scores, the positions of their degree-awarding institutions in the Times Higher Education (THE) and QS World University Rankings, and other academic achievements will be taken into consideration.

2. Research Potential

Candidates will be evaluated based on their scientific publications, conference presentations, participation in academic activities, and other research-related achievements.

3. Personal Qualities

Candidates' motivation, communication skills, leadership abilities, and overall suitability for doctoral study will be considered.

4. Ethical Values

Candidates will be evaluated with respect to their commitment to academic and research ethics, integrity, honesty, and sense of responsibility.

5. Future Vision

Candidates' potential to become leaders in their respective fields and their long-term academic and professional career goals will be taken into consideration.
The Academic Scholarship Committee will review all applications and select the candidates deemed most suitable based on the above-mentioned criteria.

  • Curriculum Vitae (CV)
  • Statement of Purpose:
    The statement should explain the candidate's reasons for applying for the PhD Achievement Scholarship, as well as their academic and career goals, motivation, and expectations regarding the PhD program.
  • Two Letters of Recommendation:
    The letters of recommendation must be submitted in sealed envelopes and should specifically address the candidate's application for the PhD Achievement Scholarship.

The original copies of the required documents must be submitted in person during the scholarship interviews.

Announcement of Results

The results of the scholarship interviews will be announced on the Announcements section of Acıbadem University's official website on September 15, 2026.
Important: The scholarship is awarded to candidates selected by the Academic Scholarship Committee based on the evaluation criteria specified above.
