The demand for qualified pharmacists, chemists, chemical engineers, doctors of medicine and biologists to work in various capacities in the pharmaceutical industry is increasing each day. The Pharmaceutical industry is seeking an employee profile who has a grasp of pharmaceutical production processes, who can contribute to the improvement and optimization of systems, who has the ability of analytical thinking, who can determine problems and develop solutions using cause and effect relationships, who has knowledge of and the skills to acquire knowledge of basic GMP (good manufacturing processes) and quality assurance, analytical method development, formulation and basic manufacturing processes.

There is also a need for qualified and trained employees with the required foundation for the sector to work in the areas of sales, marketing, distribution, licensing and patenting. Currently, it can be seen that pharmacists, medical doctors, chemists, chemical engineers and biologists working in the pharmaceutical industry are showing an intense and growing interest in post graduate programs. The current program, is a post graduate program where the subjects required in the pharmaceutical industry are given as a whole. With a large number of elective courses to be opened by a large number of experts considering the "requests and wishes of the students", students will be able to gain knowledge of the area they work in. In particular in a city such as Istanbul, which is intertwined with the Pharmaceutical Industry, the main purpose of this problem, which will be carried out in co-operation with the industry and university, is to provide students who will serve in national companies that have made international expansion as well as international companies, to educate them as qualified members of staff sought by the pharmaceutical industry in our country and abroad, and to ensure employment opportunities in the correct fields for individuals who have completed the program.

The "Management in the Pharmaceutical Industry"; will ensure that its students receive specialist education in the knowledge and skills expected of employees in the pharmaceutical industry for all the stages of a drug, from the discovery of its active ingredient to being being used and consumed by patients (active ingredient production, analysis, quality control, formulation, regulatory affairs, factory management, customer relations, sales and marketing).
