Laboratory Animal Research Center (DEHAM)
AAALAC International (American Association for Accreditation of Laboratory Animal Care) is a private, non-profit organization that promotes the humane treatment of animals in scientific projects in accordance with ethical rules through voluntary accreditation and assessment programs.
More than 1,000 companies, universities, hospitals, government agencies, and other research institutions in 49 countries have earned AAALAC accreditation, demonstrating their commitment to responsible animal care and use. These institutions volunteer to participate in AAALAC's program, in addition to complying with local, state, and federal laws regulating animal research.
Acıbadem Mehmet Ali Aydınlar University Laboratory Animal Application and Research Center (ACU-DEHAM) was accepted into the AAALAC accreditation program—which is held by only two institutions in our country, including our center—on February 25, 2020. Since that date, ACU-DEHAM has continued its operations under the scope of AAALAC accreditation. In the international arena, prestigious organizations that hold AAALAC accreditation include the Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, the American Red Cross, and the National Institutes of Health.
