The Acıbadem University 2026–2027 Academic Year Opening Ceremony was held with the participation of Mehmet Ali Aydınlar, Chair of the Board of Trustees; members of the Board of Trustees; Seher Aydınlar, Chair of the Board of Trustees of the Kerem Aydınlar Foundation; members of the Kerem Aydınlar Foundation Board of Trustees; the University’s senior management, deans, directors, academic and administrative staff, executives of Acıbadem Healthcare Group, students, and guests.
Moderated by Asst. Prof. Tuba Usseli, the ceremony began with a moment of silence and the National Anthem, followed by the screening of an Acıbadem University promotional film. The opening address was delivered by Acıbadem University Rector Prof. Ahmet Şahin. The ceremony continued with a musical performance by Sarinay Balanoji, a third-year student at the Faculty of Pharmacy and a pianist.
During the ceremony, plaques were presented to academics who have contributed to the University’s administration, faculty members distinguished by their academic achievements at the international level, and academics who demonstrated high publication performance in 2025. Academic and administrative staff members who completed 10 years of service at the University were also honored with certificates of appreciation and plaques.
The traditional opening lecture of the academic year was delivered by Prof. Ayşe Nurdan Tözün, Founding Vice Rector of Acıbadem University and faculty member of the Department of Internal Medicine at the Faculty of Medicine, with a presentation titled “The Future in the Light of Science and Technology.” The ceremony concluded with a vote of thanks to Prof. Ayşe Nurdan Tözün and wishes for a successful, healthy, and productive new academic year for all members of the University and its students.
