Fen-Edebiyat Fakültesi Moleküler Biyoloji ve Genetik
Zeynep Tokcaer Keskin received her B.Sc. in Biology in 2001 from Middle East Technical University in Ankara Turkey. In 2003 she got her M.Sc. degree from the same university where she studied microbiology under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Gülay Özcengiz and Prof. Dr. Gürdal Alaeddinoğlu. Prior to starting her Ph.D. Zeynep worked as a Clinical Research Assistant in clinical trials in Turkey for one year. In 2010 she received her Ph.D. degree from Bilkent University Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics. In her doctoral studies, under supervision of Prof. Dr. K. Can Akçalı, she focused on rat bone marrow derived mesenchymal stem cells and their contribution in cell based therapies. She continued her research studies as a postdoctoral fellow by using human embryonic stem cells, mouse embryonic stem cells and epiblast stem cells in New York University Medical Center from 2011-2013 and Ankara University Medical School Department of Biophysics from 2013-2015. Her current research study investigates the distribution of beta-receptor types at normal and hypertrophic cardiomyocytes derived from human induced pluripotent stem cells.
