Upon earning her PhD in Sociology from the Middle East Technical University; she worked at the Department of Political Science of Bilkent University (1999-2007); undertook various responsibilities in women’s civil society organisations working in fields of violence against women, human trafficking and gender sensitive rights-based monitoring and evaluation, offered various courses at the Gender and Women’s Studies Graduate Program of the Middle East Technical University as a part-time lecturer, at the same time conducted research as a freelance researcher from 2007 to 2016; and has been at the Department of Sociology of Acıbadem University since 2016. Her academic interests include gender studies, urban studies, peace studies and women’s human rights.
