Acıbadem University Continuous Education and Development Center Regulation
FIRST SECTION Aim, Scope, Legalities and Terms Objective
ARTICLE 1 - (1) The aim of this Regulation is to organize the principles and procedures related to the areas of activity, bodies and administration of the Acıbadem University Continuous Education and Development Center.
ARTICLE 2 - (1) The Regulation covers the provisions related to the organization of the principles and procedures of the areas of activity, bodies and administration of the Acıbadem University Continuous Education and Development Centre.
ARTICLE 3 - (1) This regulation has been prepared in accordance with the tenets stipulated in Articles 7 first paragraph clause (d) sub clause (2) and 14 of the Higher Education Law 2547 dated 4/11/1981.
ARTICLE 4 - (1)The terms used in this regulation mean the following:
a)Centre (ASEGEM): Acıbadem University Continuous Education and Development Center,
b) Centre Director, The Director of the Centre,
c) The Central Management Board: Administrative Board
d) Central Advisory Board Central Advisory Board,
e) Rector: Acıbadem University Rector,
f) University: The Acıbadem University
SECOND SECTION Activity Areas of the Centre, Governing Body and tasks
Areas of activity
ARTICLE 5 - (1) The areas of activity of the centre are as follows:
a) Opening the required training and certification programs on various topics,
b) Organizing courses with open participation and courses based on interest,
c) Offering electronic education programs via the internet for all ages and various interest groups,
d) Organizing education programs specifically designed for public and private sector institutions and organizations,
e) Organizing daily seminars to be presented by expert speakers,
f) Offering courses aimed at cultivating intermediate personnel for those who could not get into university, or offering formal education,
g) Developing programs that will create an educational, entertaining, participating society structure which will develop physical and mental health,
h) Organizing all kinds of courses and educational organizations deemed appropriate in all subjects from relevant departments, providing the required tools equipment and presentation opportunities,
i) Carrying out group activities which utilize free time, arranging entertainment programs, competitions, folklore and sportive activities, trips, theatre, photograph, music, forestation work, war against harmful habits and similar subjects within the univers ity and outside of the university,
j) Publish books, magazines, brochures and similar publications, organize events encouraging reading habits,
k) Organizing various cultural and scientific exchanges, and trips encouraging mingling,
l) and carrying out other activities recommended to the Rectorship or agreed upon by the Central Administrative Board,
ARTICLE 6 - (1) The bodies of the centre are the following:
a) Centre Director,
b) Board of Directors
c) Central Advisory Board
ARTICLE 7 - (1) The Director of the Centre; is appointed by the Rector for three years from among members of the faculty at the University with the knowledge and experience in the Centre's activities. Director of the Centre whose tenure has expired can be re-assigned. The Director of the Centre; is first degree responsible to the Rector for the Centre being operated in accordance with its activities, from the supervision and control of all activities of the Centre and for the results. Should the Director of the Centre leave his duties for a short period of time, he will appoint one of his deputies to his position. Should the appointment last more than six months then a new Director of the Centre is appointed. When the tenure of the Director of the Centre ends, so does the tenure of his deputies.
(2) The Director of the Centre will propose two deputy directors for the approval of the Rector from among the teaching staff appointed to the Centre to assist him in work. Deputy Directors may be dismissed by the same procedure.
Duties of the director of the Centre
ARTICLE 8 - (1) The duties of the Director of the Centre are as follows;
a) Representing the centre,
b) Chairing the Central Management Board and the Central Advisory Board,
c) The effective and organized running of the work at the centre, and taking of precautions for its control,
d) Carry out appointments required by work at the Centre, e) Presenting the report on the general condition and running of the Centre at the end of each academic year following receiving the views of the Centre Administrative Board.
Central Administrative Board
ARTICLE 9 - (1) The Centre Administrative Board; consists of four members appointed by the Rector for three years from among members of the faculty at the University proposed by the Director of the Centre.
(2) the Centre Administrative Board; is an academic body and decides upon the planning of the continuous education programs, and how work can be carried out in the framework of cooperation and division of labour. The Central Board, gathers at least four times a year and upon the call of the Centre Director when necessary. The Centre Administrative Board gathers with an absolute majority, and decisions are taken by majority vote.
Duties of the Board of Directors
ARTICLE 10 — (1) The duties of the Central Administrative Board are as follows:
a) Preparation and implementation of plans and programs regarding the Centre's work,
b) Evaluation and making of recommendations on the education, application, research and publishing requests of the staff at the Centre,
c) Taking decisions by evaluating the issues brought up by the Director of the Center,
d) When deemed necessary, establishing temporary working groups regarding the activities of the Centre and arranging their work,
e) perform other duties assigned by the Law No. 2547.
Central advisory Board and its duties
ARTICLE 11 - (1) The Centre Advisory Board; is a board which conducts evaluations regarding the activities of the Centre and offers advisory opinions. The Central Advisory Board; is formed of eight people with experience in the Centre's activities with knowledge and experience of the relevant fields from the teaching staff of the University or upon their wishes, from public and private institutions who can contribute to the operating areas of the Centre, to be determined by the Central Administrative Board. The tenure of the Centre Advisory Board members is the same as the Centre Administrative Board members. The Centre Advisory Board shall convene at least once a year with the call of the Director of the Centre.
ARTICLE 12 - (1) This Regulation shall enter into force on the date of publication.
ARTICLE 12 - (1) The provisions of this Regulation shall be executed by the Rector of Acıbadem University.
